XYSTUM
The design
The XSM machine is designed to be easily shipped and installed, as a matter of fact it is a plug and play device where all the mandatory parameters and calibration data are shipped together on a CD and the only requirement to be connected to the PC are a power cable and a network one. It is also extremely easy to use and flexible; it can fit on any desk as it has a very small footprint (like a printer) - making it ideal for the technical design department - but it is also strong enough for the shop floor - allowing quick inspection / scanning directly on the field. Moreover the overall compact dimension and the light weight allows also to consider this bench-top machine as a portable device that can be moved around the company or brought directly on the field to do the job.
All the above features are coupled with high axes acceleration to speed up the process, high precision linear guides with digital motor drives to optimize the dynamic behavior and to increase accuracy and performance and with high resolution encoders directly mounted on the motors to read out the machine position reaching 0.001 mm (one micron) resolution.
The XSM is available in five different sized models, all with a common structure based on a XY mobile table and an independent Z axis.
The models are:
- XSM-LC with axis travel of 110 x 110 x 100 mm (4.0 x 4.0 x 4.0 inches)
- XSM-LC1 with axis travel of 220 x 120 x 150 mm (8.6 x 4.7 x 5.9 inches)
- XSM-LC2 with axis travel of 305 x 120 x 150 mm (12 x 4.7 x 5.9 inches)
- XSM-LC3 with axis travel of 305 x 254 x 150 mm (12 x 10.0 x 5.9 inches)
Special travels can also be delivered upon request.
The XSM configuration
All the XSM machines can be configured with any of the following probes/tools/options to provide the scanning, inspecting and milling capabilities:
-trigger probes (Renishaw TP1 - TP20 - TP200) for measuring and inspection.
-continuous probes (xystum ET1 - Renishaw SP600 - SP25) ideal both for scanning, reverse engineering and high accuracy measuring and inspection.
- laser probes (Wolf and Beck OTM3 series) for non contact fast scanning.
- high speed milling spindle (up to 35.000 RPM) to couple velocity and precision.
- milling spindle running at 3000RPM with 0.6KW power for milling alluminum or brass. It can mount tools up to 10mm or 3/8 inches.
- 4th axis rotary table.
- closed cabinet case.
The above combination can be offered separately according to the customer's need or bundled to create a unique and incomparable all-in-one device.
XSM
xystum develops and produces 3 and 4 axes CNC benchtop machines for 3D scanning, reverse engineering and high-speed milling, ideal for prototyping and styling ad well as reasearch and educational in several application fields.
